Black Sherif has been rewarded by his management for winning the Artiste of the Year award at the just-ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Two cars, a miniature Mercedes-AMG G63 and a Suzuki Jimny Brabus G800, were presented to him by the A-List Management Chief Executive Officer, Mr Joseph Aidoo Jr.
Black Sherif won three awards at the VGMAS: Popular Song of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Best Hip-Hop Song. His album failed to win the Album of the Year award.
Black Sherif has been signed by Nigerian artist record label Empire Records, and they are in charge of marketing his music and ensuring that he makes money from his streams and online presence.
Locally, Black Sherif is managed by RBA Records, which Frederick Osei Brown manages.
Details of his deal with Empire suggest that almost 70 per cent of the money accrued will go to that record label, with Black Sherif managing a paltry 15%.
Also, it is dimly predicted that, per the content of the contract Bklack Sherif signed with Empire, he could receive only $15,000 in 15 years. He would be earning $86 (GHC1K) per month for 15 years.

His emotionless poker face tells a sobering story about the unhappiness of Black Sherif with the record label, and he might be looking for a way out.
Close sources suggest that if Black Sherif has his way, he will set up his own record label and be as independent as possible. As a growing artist, he feels that owning and running everything himself would be best for his career.
The cars were just used as an enticement to temporarily bar him from going ahead with plans to part ways with them.
Major developments in the coming months!
