Any 2024 BECE candidate who can’t answer ALL these Social Studies Questions must sit up.

The 2024 BECE is scheduled for July 2024, and any 2024 BECE candidate who can’t answer all these social studies questions must sit up with about 2 and a half months until the WAEC administered examination.

If you believe you deserve to be called a 2024 BECE candidate, we challenge you to answer all the following questions in 90 minutes without looking into any books. You are to select or choose any question. Answer all the questions.

It is important to remind students preparing for the BECE that they will be answering application or critical thinking questions at the 2024 BECE; hence, they must study and master how such questions are approached in social studies.

Social studies teachers, just like other teachers, have a role to play in training their learners on how to answer application questions.

Before you start answering these questions, check out these additional guidelines.

  1. No answer should be less than 10 words.
  2. Support your answers with examples and explain them fully.
  3. Check your spelling and grammar.
  4. Don’t repeat the question as part of the answers.
  5. Always write the question number boldly before attempting it.
  6. Do not just list points. If you do so, you do not know the answer.
  7. Plan your answers by brainstorming and jotting down the points before answering the question.
  8. The pass mark for this test is a minimum of 17/20 for each question answered.
  9. Write clearly so that the examiner can read the answers. Bad handwriting can lead to low exam scores.

NATIONHOOD

3. (a) To what extent did the recommendations of the Watson Commission contribute to fostering a self-governance aspirations Ghana? (16 marks)

(b) Enumerate four advantages of power sharing. (4 marks)

4. Explain four impacts of the third Republican constitution on the political development of Ghana. (20 marks)

SECTION III
SOCIO-ECONOMIC

5. (a) Evaluate four effectiveness of current efforts to improve tourist sites in Ghana in terms of visitor experience enhancement. (16 marks)

(b) Outline four roles of the Regional Coordinating Council in service delivery across various districts within a region in Ghana. (4 marks)

6. (a) How does investing in human resource development contribute to sustainable economic growth in Ghana? Explain in any four ways. (16 marks)

(b) State four obligations of an employee towards social security and pension schemes. (4 marks)

After completing these questions, present the answer booklet to your school teacher. Your teacher will be more than willing to assist you. All the best, but remember, if you cannot solve any of these questions, it means you are not fully ready for the BECE. Revise all the topics from which you were not able to answer particular questions, and then take the examination again.
